Zodiac Constellations

Twelve constellations play a very special role in the night sky. These are the zodiac constellations: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius & Pisces. The zodiac signs are important because all moving celestial bodies (the sun, the moon, and the planets) are always located in one of these twelve constellations.

A few thousand years ago, when astrology was developed, great importance was attached to the position of the sun at the time of a person’s birth. For example, if you were born in the first half of August, the sun was in the constellation Leo. You were then “born under the sign of Leo,” which was believed to influence your personality.
