The Promise of Sylluna

Everything we create and develop at Sylluna stems from a deep intention. This intention goes beyond simply “making beautiful products.” It is a dream, a vision. With everything we do, we carry this promise:

History of SB Designs / SB Designs Creations

In 2014, SB Designs was founded by Susanne Boer. At the time, it was active in the graphic design industry, primarily focusing on business logos, corporate identities, and promotional materials. The illustrative branch started in the background and gradually came more to the forefront.

This resulted in a second trade name, SB Designs Creations, in 2016, to create a clear distinction between the business work and the more illustrative branch (which was increasingly developing in the direction of fantasy, nature & spirituality).

For years, SB Designs Creations was the trade name at the forefront. But this name was born out of necessity and the need to “quickly have something.” It lacked magic; it lacked meaning. While the visual identity and presentation were developed into a magical whole, the name itself felt far from magical. It undermined the company’s vision, which was a shame!

And so began the search for a new, perfect, magical brand name.

De magische merknaam die vervolgens haar intrede heeft gedaan is Sylluna (uitspraak: sil-lu-na).

This change is more than just a new name. It reflects the growth we have undergone and the direction we want to follow with heart and soul.

Sylluna was born from a deep desire to express the magical essence of our creations even more powerfully, and that magic starts with the name itself. Sylluna retains the brand values of SB Designs Creations but makes it possible to grow further and pursue broader collaborations.

Sylluna stands for magic, and magic is everywhere. In nature, in the power of your imagination, and in the small moments of everyday life. It is the power of dreams and stories coming to life. The magical brand name Sylluna strengthens our promise.

 

Where does Sylluna come from?

Sylluna is a fusion of two powerful Latin words:

• “Syl” is based on an alternative spelling of Silva, the Latin word for forest/wood. A place where magic can be felt and where the stories of nature come to life.
• “Luna”also comes from Latin and means moon, a symbol of intuition, cyclical growth, and the magical rhythm of nature. When you look at the moon, there is that sense of wonder, that feeling of connection with something greater.

The S in Sylluna is also a subtle reference to the name of the Magical Artist and founder: Susanne Boer. Just like with SB Designs Creations, a little touch of familiarity in a new, magical guise.
